Two Beef or.. just One Beef and something a la carte?

So what’s it to be? Sunday Lunch…or Lunch on Sunday? We may cook the Ultimate Sunday Lunch on the Ultimate Sunday of every month but that’s not all we do. A small but perfectly formed selection from our a la carte menu is also available. Because even an Ultimate Roast Sirloin of Beef is not everyone’s cup of tea…so to speak.

Immensely proud of today’s Chef’s Terrine made with Margaret’s wild venison, Packington free-range pork and the livers from Jeff Cracknell’s free-range ducks. And the smell in the kitchen!!! When Apple invent the “smell’o’phone” (probably next week and called the i-smell) you’ll be able to get the full picture, so to speak. In the meantime you can either take my word for it or – better yet – book a table and find out for yourself. Can’t wait to taste it…

Our very own black pudding is poaching away as we speak! This is Version 2.5, with slight variations to the spicing from Version 2 made a month ago. Can’t wait to try it but that will have to wait for a day or two while it ‘sets’ and matures…or maybe a week or two! Nah…a day or two.

Happy April Fool’s Day! So far as I know we made it past noon without any wind-ups/practical jokes – hope it went as well for you. 24 loaves and five MkII black puddings yesterday. Mayne not a modern miracle but still a very satisfying day in the kitchen. First impressions of the black pud are very encouraging but let’s see how it matures over the weekend
