Excellent accomodation, warm hospitality and marvellous food.
We stopped off here for one night en route for the West and what a fortuitous stoke of good luck, this place is an absolute gem.
The room is perfect and I mean that, you really couldn't improve on it.
Our evening meal was outstanding for quality, taste and complete enjoyment. We were made very welcome by Sally; front of house, and Jools cooks and he is a genius [no exageration] most of the dishes are his contrivances, the ingredients are superb and he cooks with love and produces meals that you will remember.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Visited last Friday for dinner whilst on holiday from Aberdeen. The setting and food were exceptional. The food was all cooked to perfection. Found that the meal and food were very reasonably priced for the quality provided.

Stopped in with relatives for supper. One of the best meals I have had in England. Small establishment but they go above and beyond. Menu is changed frequently depending on what is available but worth it. Tiger prawns were superb and the sea bass just melted in my mouth. Is not cheap but chef comes out to make sure you have enjoyed the meal and everything to your liking. Would definitely go again if in area. AAAAA++++++++

Surfing pays off
My wife and I tend to go away at this time of the year as it is our wedding anniversary. This year we decided on Banksy at Weston Super Mare and a bit of birdwatching on the Somerset Levels. I Googled places to stay and found The Pilgrims which seemed to have extremely good reviews. Fortunately they had rooms available so we booked.
Let's deal with the negative stuff first.
Okay done that! Really if I wrote anything negative it would be turbo nitpicking. Greeted very nicely, even had a cup of tea brought to the room (despite, embarrassingly, discovering tea making in the room).
Dinner - food simply gorgeous, try the scallops with magnificent black pudding. Wines great and not stupid prices. Managed three courses (somehow) and left very impressed.
Next morning, breakfast, a beautiful heart attack on a plate looked like a work of art. 100% yummy.
If you are staying in the area I cannot recommend this place highly enough - we have stayed at hundreds of places over the years and this is certainly one of the best - absolutely top notch.
OMG I forgot to mention the rooms - beautiful, lovely decor, clean (and very airy if you get one with a vaulted ceiling).
Totally brilliant, Jools is a very very good chef.
Thanks so much!!
